Safety Training Seminars offers Self-Guided Learning™ courses for BLS, ACLS, and PALS at their Antioch training center located at 3701 Lone Tree Way, Suite 4A — right at the corner of Lone Tree Way and Davison Drive, in the Antioch Business Park. If you work at Kaiser Permanente Antioch Medical Center, Sutter Delta Medical Center, or any clinic or healthcare facility in the East Contra Costa area, this training center sits close to your workplace and fits your schedule.
Self-Guided Learning™ courses combine self-paced online learning with a self-guided skills session completed at a CPR Verification Station™ learning center. You complete every component independently — no fixed class times, no group schedules, no waiting on an instructor. Upon successful completion, you receive an American Heart Association® Course Completion eCard.
Self-Guided Learning is a course-based learning option from the American Heart Association®. It works in two parts:
Complete both components, and you receive your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard for BLS, ACLS, or PALS.
This approach is different from blended learning or instructor-led classroom learning. There is no instructor facilitating the skills session. You complete everything independently, on your own timeline.
Safety Training Seminars offers three primary Self-Guided Learning course options for healthcare professionals at the Antioch site:
BLS courses teach high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, effective AED use, rescue breathing, airway management, and team-based resuscitation. The American Heart Association® BLS Provider course completion eCard is valid for two years and accepted by hospitals, clinics, and healthcare employers nationwide — including facilities near Antioch like John Muir Health and regional East Bay medical centers.
ACLS training prepares providers to manage complex cardiovascular emergencies using algorithm-based clinical decision-making and team communication protocols.
PALS courses cover respiratory failure, shock recognition, and pediatric resuscitation skills aligned with the latest American Heart Association 2025 Guidelines.
All three courses follow the HeartCode® Complete course format — the American Heart Association’s Self-Guided Learning course for BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Upon successful completion, learners receive an American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, or PALS Provider Course Completion eCard the same day their skills session is completed.
HeartCode® is a trademark of the American Heart Association.
The CPR Verification Station™ learning center uses Voice-Assisted Manikin (VAM) technology to guide learners through required psychomotor skills. The station provides objective, real-time feedback on:
No live instructor coaches or evaluates you during the session. The station objectively measures your performance against AHA-defined criteria. If you don’t pass on the first attempt, you practice and repeat until you meet the standard. The process takes roughly 30 minutes for BLS and ACLS/PALS skills sessions.
This format works particularly well for healthcare professionals in Antioch and the broader East Contra Costa County area who need to renew or complete initial training without rearranging their work schedule.
The Antioch training center at 3701 Lone Tree Way operates Monday through Sunday, 8 AM to 10 PM. That flexibility matters for nurses rotating between shifts at Kaiser Permanente Antioch Medical Center, providers at Sutter Delta Medical Center on Lone Tree Way, and staff at local urgent care centers and specialty clinics throughout Antioch, Brentwood, and Oakley.
